What:

  • The British Biology Olympiad aims to challenge and stimulate students with an interest in biology.
  • The competition boasts a wider syllabus than A-level, allowing you to expand & extend your STEM talents.
  • Demonstrate your knowledge and you’ll be rewarded with medals, certificates and the chance to compete at an international level (see the International Biology Olympiad).
  • The competition itself consists of two, 1hr multiple choice tests. These will be taken online at school.
  • Top performing students will be offered the opportunity to attend an award ceremony in London.

When:

  • Registration will open October 2016 so keep an eye on the website (just click ‘visit website’ at the bottom of this page).
  • Round 1 of the competition will take place from 20th – 27th January 2017.

How:

  • All schools can register up to two students free of charge with additional student places starting at £10 each (up to a maximum of £150 per school).
